EXERCISES

Exercise  01

We are first introduced to Autodesk Maya. After getting a brief understanding of the basic fundamentals, we were tasked with ou first exercise,  which was to make a set of chess pieces

Exercise  02

Our second exercise was to create a simple pistol. Mr. Kannan said it's always best to find good references when modeling.

Fig 2.1: Pistol reference

First, I worked on blocking out the gun, by placing planes on top of the reference and adjusting the vertices to get the shape of the pistol.

After the block out was done, I proceeded to add details. Here is the process of detailing.

The shape has come together and now it is time to add the final details, starting with the muzzle.

Here is the final draft of my pistol model.

After finishing the model, I UV mapped the pistol before I could texture my gun.

When the UV maps were all done, I transferred the model into Substance Painter to texture and render.

Exercise  03

We learned how to add texture and material to objects and were taught how to properly make UV maps. Using the knowledge learned, we were required to test the process on 3 simple cubes.

Exercise  03

After, our Project 1 was done, we were introduced to Zbrush. As an introductory task, Mr. Kannan assigned us to make a simple head sculpt. I wanted to be experimental and attempt to create an ogre's head.
