Brief
I had this surreal idea to replace plants in vases with hands. The deeper meaning is this. Imagine walking through a garden, you would be the one to decide which flowers to pick, in the same way we decide the type of people we want to surround our self with. This image resembles something of a helping hand which shows that the people can be of help to you or you could be of help to them. All you have to do is just grab it.

The vase (above) and hands (below) were all a result of adding layer mask.

The hands were so light in term exposure so what I did was, I duplicated the layers and added a soft light and screen blending option. I basically had three groups of hands and later merged them all into one.

As you can see, the hands feel like they belong with the surroundings and this was due to the layers and blending options mentioned above. Lastly, I created a drop shadow of the hands and adjusted and extended the shadow near the edge since in real life, shadows would fall straight down an edge.

This was a bit challenging as since I was rotating each hand, I had to make the shadow mimic that same movement but nonetheless, I think it turned out pretty good.
